Loucas Hajiantoni

Loucas is an innovative musician on and off the stage. He composes for all types of media; film, TV, websites, sonic logos, writes his own material and arranges for a number of styles. He regularly performs as a solo pianist, and can be found playing with function bands Dr Vegas and Masterblasters.

A former student of the University of Southampton, UK, Loucas studied music (Ba Hons) and film composition (Masters degree) with composer Dr. Andrew Fisher. His music encompasses classical tradition and modern popular sounds, citing the likes of Bernard Hermann, David Arnold and Shostakovich as some of his influences. He has composed music for interactive gaming shows for Philanthrokidz and Xenophile Media, the latter was nominated for an SXSW and Webby award in 2010.

Loucas has spent the past two years working with Unpacked Theatre company in Brighton. He composed and performs music for "Robin & The Big Freeze" and "The Show Must Go On" which are touring in 2011. See the Unpacked website for more info.

Contract completed

8 months at sea have come to an end. I have met some fantastic people and travelled to 33 countries & islands. By the far the best experience so far, both professionally and personally. The range of music onboard Cunard is outstanding, big band to dance shows & classical pieces to dixieland. You name a style and I have probably played it! I am extremely keen to further these skills back on the mainland now as a freelance musician. 

Cruising for a Bluesin'

Just into 2nd week of May, and I have been offered a 4 month contract with Cunard Cruise Lines. I will be joining the rotation band (orchestra/theatre bands) aboard all three Cunard ships; Queen Mary 2, Queen Victoria & Queen Elizabeth.

The various ships will be sailing across to North America, Caribbean Islands, The Mediterranean and Greek Isles between September 2011 and January 2012. I hope it will be a great opportunity to travel, meet new people and of course improve my music chops. I'm particularly looking forward to playing a vast range of genres from Latin to Pop to Broadway. Will report back with some more info soon!

27th March 2011 Update

I am currently composing music for a trailer to a Jeffrey Archer biopic "Only Time Will Tell". The piece is set between the 1st & 2nd World Wars and requires slow orchestral underscoring. I will hopefully be able to put a link up on the site when it is completed.

Performing at Katie Price's dinner party was great fun! I have always been a fan of hers. A very small picture of me playing at her house appeared in the OK Magazine. I may even appear on her new show because the film crew were rolling the entire evening.

Katie Price Press Dinner

I have been asked to perform at a press night held by Katie Price, taking place at her house. This is to coincide with the release of her new show on SKY Living on 22nd March 2011. Looking forward to playing and hopefully meeting her!

Impromptu performance with Darius

I recently met Darius Campbell (previously Darius Danesh) at the Limewood Hotel where I play the piano on Sunday afternoons. He was there as a wedding guest, and asked me to accompany him. We performed “Smile” and “Colourblind” which was a number 1 hit for him in 2002. He is recovering from a neck injury, so I wish him a speedy recovery.
